Literary Universe - UI/UX designer opening

Working hours: Full-time (40h/week) or Part-time

Experience level: Mid-Level / Senior

Compensation: $4000 ~ $5000 / month for full time


  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with founders and engineers
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
  • Create original graphic designs
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness, accessibility)
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images

Skills and experience

  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role (show us your portfolio)
  • Experiences with wireframe and design tools like, InVision, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, etc.
  • Advanced English for communication and writing
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Cross-cultural understanding (for example be aware of different meanings of colors in different cultures, RTL design, etc.)
  • Be passionate about at least one of the following: creative writing, publishing, freedom of speech, empowering creators, reading, large story universes
  • [Optional] Bs. in Design, IT, or related fields
  • [Nice to have] artistic skills beyond UI/UX like icon design, creating social media/blog post images, etc.
  • [Nice to have] HMTL & CSS skills

Job description

You will be working with the company founders and other stakeholders to develop a new design for Literary Universe, revise UI/UX for existing features and design new ones. If you are capable you will also be designing an icon set and other art for Literary Universe.
